2026 Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA Night of Stars Charity Event to Honor Sister Georgeann Vumbaco

The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA’s sixth annual Night of Stars will take place on Friday, June 12, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the YMCA Mountain Mist Outdoor Center in Meriden. The YMCA is pleased to honor Sister Georgeann Vumbaco as the 2026 Night of Stars honoree.

Sister Georgeann has devoted her life to teaching and community service. She served as principal of St. Joseph School from 1982 to 2002 and currently serves as a part-time pastoral associate at Our Lady Queen of Angels.

Her extensive community involvement includes serving on the boards of The Bradley Home and her alma mater, Mercy High School. She was also a member of the Children’s First Initiative and the School Readiness Council, chairperson of the Advisory Board on Aging for the City of Meriden, and chaplain for the Meriden Fire Department.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA Annual Campaign to strengthen our community. Through the Annual Campaign, the YMCA provides scholarships and financial assistance for summer camp, swim lessons, youth sports, child care, memberships, holiday meals, and more.

Night of Stars guests will enjoy an open bar featuring signature drinks, a beer garden, light fare, desserts, fabulous auction items, a diamond drawing, a 50/50 raffle featuring a designer handbag, music and more.

Tickets are $50 for one guest or $90 for two guests. You may purchase tickets at the Meriden YMCA Welcome Center, by phone at 203-235-6386, or online at meridenymca.org. Tickets are advance purchase only. They will not be sold at the door. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
