Meriden YMCA

The Meriden YMCA Infant and Toddler programs create a safe, nurturing environment for families and children to grow together. We enjoy accompanying parents through their journey and the developmental milestones during the growth and development period most crucial from infancy to toddlerhood. Our goal is to assist children in developing their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills while preparing for a sound educational future.

Meet Our Director

Cathlin Villafane

I started working for the Y in August of 2017. I cared for children at the Meriden YMCA Early Learning Center at Johnson Avenue,  joined our staff at our  Infant and Toddler Center in South Meriden, then came back to Johnson Ave.

The Y has helped me to advance in my career. I earned my certification as a Child Development Associate in Infants and Toddlers through the Y. I was the assistant director at Johnson Avenue and now I am the director overseeing sites at Johnson Avenue, Little Hounds  preschool at Hanover Elementary School, and preschool and toddler care at the Meriden YMCA at 110 West Main Street.

In addition to helping you reach your career goals, the Y offers fantastic benefits. My five younger children go to Mountain Mist Day Camp, the before and after school program, vacation fun club, and snow day club. My middle school student does Beyond the Bell. My children also do the sports programs, dance, gymnastics team and swim lesson programs. The Y  provides great child care for my children and keeps them active. It is a great place to work!
