MERIDEN — It really is the most wonderful time of the year for 6-year-old Xavier Taylor of Wallingford. Not only is Xavier on Santa Claus’ nice list, but his birthday is Dec. 24.
“I get two days of presents,” he said.
On Saturday, he got to tell Old St. Nick exactly what he wants for Christmas — a basketball leads his list — at the YMCA’s annual Breakfast with Santa.
About 500 people attended the breakfast, which was part of Saturday’s Downtown Meriden Holiday Extravaganza presented by the Downtown Neighborhood Association.
“Our goal is to get families together and to bring people downtown,” said Steve Markoja, operations director for the Meriden YMCA. “It’s been great. We’ve got a good crowd.”
Xavier stopped by the event with his grandmother, Marge Taylor; his mother, Stacey Taylor; and his 2-year-old twin brothers, Quincy and Trayvon.
